SENIOR CITIZENS ANNUAL CHRISTMAS OUTING

Christmas is just around the corner and, once again, we are offering a fantastic festive package to our Senior citizens.

The Pantomime this year is ‘Aladdin’ and the date for the outing is Monday 4th December 2006. Tickets are priced at £15 and this includes travel by coach to and from the Kings theatre as well as a fish tea at Harry Ramsden’s.

Please contact Rosemary Manson on 577 9876 before 30th September to secure your place, as tickets are limited. The first 30 Senior residents to contact Rosemary will be guaranteed a ticket.

CEILIDH

The Residents’ Association Ceilidh will be held on Friday l7th November in Milngavie Bowling Club. Put this date in your diary for a great evening’s entertainment, with a fish/chicken supper and a raffle in aid of charity.

MOSSHEAD PLAYPARK

The PALS action group has now been granted charitable status.

KILMARDINNY/BURNBRAE DEVELOPMENT

The proposed development of Lower Kilmardinny/Westpark on Milngavie Road, which includes the Bumbrae Garage site, has recently appeared as a planning application in the Bearsden and Milngavie Herald.

The plan is an outline application and includes: -

  • Erection of 550 residential dwellings, flats, houses and townhouses.

  • Demolition of existing Allander Leisure Centre

  • Erection of Council offices and new leisure centre on old Bumbrae Garage site

  • New access road into development opposite Mosshead Road and construction of a roundabout at Mosshead Road/Milngavie Road.

  • New loop road into development from roundabout at Homebase/Halleys with associated road improvements.
