4   CORRESPONDENCE

    (i) Affiliation to Milngavie and Bearsden Forum

Flora wrote to Amanda Stewart detailing reasons why Burnbrae Residents Association would not affiliate to the forum: -

1 It would be difficult to avoid a political element given that the Chair of the Forum had declared an interest in standing for office at the next election in May 2007.

2 The tenor of articles and letters from the Forum to the Local newspaper were of concern to committee and residents.

3 Commitments to Burnbrae Residents take priority.

Shirley Otley replied via E- mail expressing disappointment at BRA's decision and expressing a view that all parties would require to join forces in opposing development plans for the area known as the 'Kilmardinny Strip' and advised that the forum would welcome the Association as affiliated members at any time in the future..

Flora formally replied advising that the Association was watching developments carefully and was keen to see development of Bus Garage site, although having some concerns over the proposed housing density the Association is in favour of the improved egress from Mosshead Road.

     (ii) Bogus Callers Conference
East Dunbartonshire Council and Strathclyde Police have organised a ‘Bogus Callers Conference’ at Tom Johnson House on Tuesday 5th December. Victor and Flora will represent Burnbrae Residents Association.
