Minutes of meeting held on Wednesday 25th April at Milngavie Bowling Club.

NOT IN ATTENDANCE

Ian Smith, Ian McGregor, Mark Keddie, Ian Wardrop.

WELCOME AND APOLOGIES

Flora welcomed the new members to the first meeting of the new session.

Apologies were received from John Haddow, Scott Kerr, Adele Smith, Rosemary Manson, Colin Taylor

MATTERS ARISING

None.

Matters arising from A.G.M. – Discussion about aims of Association.

Watching brief for developers. Social events [senior citizens’ trip to panto., ceilidh, Burns’ supper] Monitoring council activities e.g. roads, bins. Discount card – no longer valid for West Highland Gate. Emerald card can still be used. Lending of equipment. Linking in with other associations.

Suggest that questionnaire be put out asking residents what they would like to see done.

CORRESPONDENCE

Letter sent to Mike Newel thanking him for presentation at A.G.M.

Letter sent by resident to Bearsden N. Focus team, police, E. D. C. and us re – dangerous exit from Kilmardinny Crescent onto Kilmardinny Ave. Suggesting mirror, speed bumps or resiting of N.T.L. box. The Roads Department previously looked at this and said no. We are interested to hear the Council reply to this.

TREASURERS’ REPORT

£4254 in bank. Hire of hall for A.G.M. and  Rosemary’s catering costs have still to come off.

E.D.C. LOCAL PLAN 2

Questions to be answered include – options for improved parking in area; affordable housing; effect on green belt.

A separate sub-committee will be set up with Flora, Victor, Janice and John.

NEIGHBOURHOOD WATCH

No specific crimes. Remind people to lock front doors when gardening.

BEARSDEN COMMUNITY COUNCIL LINKS

The Kilmardinny strip development is being looked at. The recycling people came to the last meeting.

The A.G.M. is being held on Wed. 2nd May in Kessington Hall.

SPRING NEWSLETTER

Subscriptions. Questionnaire and means of returning it. Web site. Discount card – no longer valid at West Highland Gate. Highlights of A.G.M.- new members, talk from Roads Department update from PALS.

A.O.C.B.

Mike Newel from Roads Department is being invited to next meeting. We will ask him about council adopting lane at Joe’s shop. New councillor will also be invited. Burnbrae House needs to trim bushes and trees.

FUTURE MEETINGS

Tuesday 29th May at 8 p.m.; Thursday 27th September at 8 p.m.

Tuesday 13th November at 8 p.m. all at Milngavie Bowling Club

A.G.M. booking for April 2008 will be made.
